Art with Ash
Art has been a firm favourite this term with the Children, who have loved learning about Goergia O'Keefe and creating the most beautiful pieces of art, using pastilles, paint and wokring with different patterns. You would have seen their fabulous flowers on display in the coridoor at parents evening, we also have some lovely 3D flowers on display in the classroom-please do come take a look, I know the children would love to show you. Each and everyone is unique and lots of skills went into making them including tracing, cutting, sticking and painting.
Geography with Ash
Our topic this term is Transport. As part of our Georgraphy lessons the children will be learning about the United Kingdom and will be making journeys to the Capital Cities. You may have already heard about our Journey to London. Here are the children taking the train journey and enjoying the sights of London, we saw many famous Landmarks including Buckingham Palace and The London Eye.
Next week we will be driving to Cardiff and taking an aeroplane to Edingburgh.
Computing with Ash
The children really enaged in this terms computing lessons as they particularly enjoyed using the ipads. The children worked in pairs to create their own story using toys from around the classroom. They then used an app called 'Our Story' to take pictures of each part of thier story and add text to create their very own 'E-book'. The stories were so imaginative and lovely to read. The children will now use a similar software using Purple Mash to create their own stories using drawing tools and typing skills to write and create their very own 'E-Book'.
History with Ash
The children have been learning about significant famous people linked to our transport topic. The children amazed me with the facts they were able to retain about the different famous people, from their names, dates and why they were famous. The children particularly enjoyed learning about the Montgolfier Brothers and creating their very own hot air ballon using paper mache, it was very messy but super fun and it definitely helped the children to remember key facts about the inventors of the hot air balloon. We also learnt about Christopher Columbus, Neil Armstrong, Wright Brothers and Karl Benz.
